Shoreham Vehicle Auctions hosts 14th annual charity auction for Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice
- SVA and south coast motor dealers look to take funds raised to over £300,000
- SVA calls for unwanted dealer used cars or vans that will be auctioned for charity
Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA) has announced the dates for its 2024 Chestnut Tree House Charity auction where the south coast motor industry comes together to raise money for the Sussex-based hospice.
The dealer part exchange and finance on the 25th of March and light commercial sale on the 26th of March will host the charity auctions and SVA is calling for dealers and drivers living on or around the south coast to gift their unwanted dealer part exchange or family car or van so it can be auctioned off for charity.
This is the 14th year that SVA has run the charity auction and in that time, it has raised £270,000 with the generous support of local motor dealers. Getting to £300,000 and beyond is this year’s target according to SVA’s MD Alex Wright.
“Over the past 14 years automotive suppliers and dealers that buy and sell used vehicles have come together to support the auctions and we are very keen to raise more than £30,000 this year so we can beat the magic £300,000. Please contact the SVA team if you have an unwanted car or van to donate to the auction,” he added.
Chestnut Tree House is a Sussex-based hospice catering for children and young adults, with highly trained specialist staff and tailored facilities including a hydrotherapy pool and multisensory playrooms. It relies on public donations and fundraising events.
The funds raised via the auctions are vital to the ongoing running of the hospice and will help make up for a continued shortfall in fundraising experienced from the pandemic.
SVA is continuing to offer a variety of ‘direct to charity’ activity lots for buyers to bid on ranging from £29 for a magical hour in the multi-sensory room with a specially trained nurse, to £230 which pays for all services at the hospice for an hour for families in their care.
Becki Jupp, CEO at Chestnut Tree House said: “We are grateful for SVA and the local motor industry who continue to support our amazing charity so generously. We look forward to working with the SVA team again this year to make the auction a big success.”
